Creation of Vision, Mission and Values

In "The Fifth Discipline", Peter Senge discusses the importance of having a compelling Shared Vision; he concludes that a shared vision is “a force in people’s hearts, a force of impressive power.” LeadQuest will assist your executive team in developing or re-crafting your Corporate Vision, a word picture that describes who you aspire to become as an organization - an inspiring view of the desired future state!

A Mission Statement describes the purpose of the organization, i.e., what you are in business to do. Obviously, mission statements keep the organization focused and on track.

Values guide how you conduct yourself in the marketplace and in the workplace; in other words, the day-to-day behaviors of individuals within the organization. LeadQuest’s process enables our clients to transform their values into behaviors, and to make those behaviors a way of daily life throughout the organization. It is worth noting that LeadQuest’s 10 Principles of Personal Leadership have been adopted by a number of prominent organizations as their “standards of behavior.”

Warren Bennis said, “A good manager does things right; a leader does the right things.” It is leadership's responsibility to be role models of the desired values and behaviors, and to be fully aware of how important their actions are, because people model the behaviors of their leaders. One key objective of LeadQuest's Executive Coaching process, which includes the “The Atlas Leadership Profiler™” (360° Feedback Instrument) and individual coaching with developmental planning, is to ensure that your executive team models the desired values and behaviors (e.g., The 10 Principles of Personal Leadership).
